He was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of War Service January 1918. Was again mentioned in Despatches of the Secretary of State for War in March 1918. Was made Commander of the Military Division of the Order of the British Empire in January 1919.
On the amalgamation of the R.N.A.S. and R.F.C. Lieutenant-Colonel Drury was appointed Chairman of a Committee for submitting proposals for the organisation of a new Works Branch for the Royal Air Force, and in April, 1918, he was appointed by the Secretary of State, Lord Rothermere, a Member of the Aerodrome Committee.
